About EKRW

Our Mission

The European Kurdish Rights Watch (EKRW) is an independent, non-governmental organization dedicated to monitoring, documenting, and advocating for the human rights of Kurdish communities across Turkey, Iraq, Iran, Syria, and the European diaspora.

Founded in Brussels, EKRW works to ensure that human rights violations against Kurdish people are thoroughly documented, reported to international bodies, and addressed through legal and diplomatic channels.

What We Do

Documentation

We systematically document human rights violations through verified field reports, witness testimonies, and evidence collection.

Monitoring

Our network of field monitors tracks developments in Kurdish regions, providing real-time reporting on emerging situations.

Advocacy

We engage with the European Parliament, UN Human Rights Council, and other international bodies to advocate for Kurdish rights.

Legal Support

We provide legal analysis and support for cases involving Kurdish rights violations, working with international legal frameworks.

Our Principles

  • Independence: We operate independently of any government, political party, or armed group.
  • Accuracy: Every report undergoes rigorous verification before publication.
  • Impartiality: We document violations regardless of the perpetrator.
  • Protection: The safety of victims and sources is our highest priority.
